About Gavin Cooper
Allied Active was founded by Gavin Cooper, an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist with more than 12 years of clinical exercise physiology experience and 18 years of experience across exercise physiology, personal training, hospital settings, private clinics and major gym networks.
Gavin completed a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology after developing a strong interest in working with people with complex medical conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and musculoskeletal conditions. His clinical experience has focused on developing safe, practical and individualised exercise programs for people with a wide range of health and functional needs.
Gavin also worked at The Prince Charles Hospital in the Cardiac Science Unit, where he gained experience in cardiac diagnostics, stress testing and patient monitoring. This provided valuable clinical experience in cardiovascular health and the safe prescription of exercise for people with cardiac conditions.
Gavin has experience supporting clients with:
- Disability and complex support needs
- Chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological conditions
- Musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions affecting the back, hips, knees and shoulders.
- Reduced mobility, falls risk and loss of physical capacity
- Pre and post-operative rehabilitation
- Strength, conditioning and physical capacity development
- In house exercise perception for Aged Care and Independent Living.
At Allied Active, the focus is on practical exercise that fits into your life and addresses your individual health, physical and functional goals.
Where appropriate, we work alongside GPs, specialists and other allied health professionals to ensure exercise programs complement your existing medical and healthcare management.
