EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-trained health professionals who prescribe safe, evidence-based exercise programs for people with chronic conditions, injuries, or disabilities.
They help manage a wide range of health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, musculoskeletal pain, neurological conditions, cancer, and mental health.
Each program is tailored to improve function, support recovery, and enhance quality of life.
ESSA is the national accrediting body for AEPs in Australia.
NDIS Services
At Allied Active Exercise Physiology, we proudly support NDIS participants with tailored, evidence-based exercise programs designed to improve function, mobility, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides personalised support to Australians under 65 with a permanent and significant disability. It helps individuals, their families, and carers access the services they need to live more independent, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
Exercise Physiology services are funded under the NDIS categories of Improved Daily Living and Improved Health and Wellbeing. These services aim to build physical capacity, reduce pain, and enhance confidence and independence in daily activities.
We support both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you self-manage your plan, you have the flexibility and control to choose the services that best suit your needs and goals. If you are plan-managed, we can work directly with your plan manager to make the process simple and stress-free.

Exercise Physiologists play a key role in supporting patients with chronic conditions through Medicare-funded Chronic Disease Management Plans (CDMPs). With a referral from your GP, eligible individuals can access up to five subsidised sessions per calendar year to help manage conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, chronic pain, and more. WORKCOVER QUEENSLAND

Helping Injured Workers Recover with Allied Health Support
At Allied Active Exercise Physiology, we’re proud to work alongside WorkCover Queensland to support injured workers on their road to recovery. As Exercise Physiologists, we play an important role in helping people manage their injuries, rebuild strength, and return to work safely and confidently.

Here’s how we help:
-
Tailored, evidence-based exercise programs to treat and manage injury or illness.
-
A strong focus on improving function, mobility, and work-readiness.
-
Collaboration with treating doctors to ensure care is coordinated and effective.
Getting started is simple:
Before treatment begins, workers just need a current Work Capacity Certificate or a referral from a GP or medical practitioner.

What you should know:
-
The treating doctor is responsible for approving and coordinating allied health services.
-
From 1 July 2025, injured workers must lodge their claim directly using the Work Capacity Certificate—this won’t happen automatically through the GP anymore.
-

We’re here to make the process easy for you and your clients. If you have a worker needing support, we’re ready to help them take the next step toward recovery and return to work.
